That's such a tempting situation, but you've definitely got valid concerns... Personally, I'd be most worried about a sudden emergency. If your parents wouldn't help out, and you don't have a bunch of money stashed away, you would be stuck in a really bad situation. Have you taken the cost of grain and hay into account too? If you don't already have one, you'd probably want to get a job for the vet, farrier, feed, potential board if you chose the $40-60 a month (what a find, closest barn to me is $1,000), and even save up for potential emergency vet bills... Then a job, school, and regular horse duties seems like a LOT to handle. It's definitely tempting, and maybe you are an amazingly disciplined person with great time management skills, but from an outside view that seems like a pretty challenging situation.

I'm sorry. I was 2cm dilated for almost a month before giving birth, and baby was engaged as well. This does not mean you will not go into labor, but it does not mean you will either. No one can tell for sure --only baby knows ;) It does sound good though. Don't go trying all those old wives tale (walking a lot, taking castor oil, etc) ... only one thing can really work : sex (there is something in the sperm that might help you) and relaxing. Get all the rest you can so you'll be in great shape when the big day comes.

Being induced tomorrow - 2nd time around - Any advice?

I have been induced with all 3 of my children. 1st one 6lbs. 15 oz. went in at 7am had him at 9:11pm. They induced me with pitocin and i did not dilate fast at all it took 14 hours to have him. After 11 hours I was at a 5 and they finally let me have an epidural and it went quick after that. Second one 6 lbs. 12 oz. went in at 7am had her at 6:19pm. They broke my water which was supposed to bring on contractions- it didn't. so after 4 hours of not having contractions they started the pitocin and told me I could have an epidural whenever I wanted. I started having hard contractions and got the epidural and an hour later my daughter was born. My 3rd baby 7lbs. 4 oz. I went at 7 am and had him at 1:20pm. i had been having little contractions all night the night before 10- 15 minutes apart. When i went in to be induced they started the pitocin I had an epidural around 11 and had my son at 1:20pm . Think the epidural really helped me to relax cause it went fast each time after I got it.

Hospitality management might work, but if you're not going to go for a general business degree, you should be looking at entrepreneurship programs if you want to run your own business. We're planning to bring with us some local food delicacies (mostly dried stuff like fish, prawn and squid) to give away to our relatives in the USA and I'm wondering if this is allowed? Does anyone know any guidelines concerning this? Like if this is okay? How to pack it properly? Will it get confiscated? Those stuff. Thank you. ;-D

So this is my first pregnancy, ive been feeling like i need to have a bowel movement every couple of minutes (i havent timed them yet). Ive actually had a bowel movement twice in those times. Everytime i feel that way my stomach gets hard. The feeling usually goes away for a couple of min and comes back. Ill time them, but i have heard that real contractions start in your back so im confused as to weather i might really be in labor or going into labor soon. Before I start, yes, I know that coldsores ARE a form of the herpes simplex virus. Anyways, I've never done anything sketch before, but one of my friends has and ended up getting genital herpes warts in her mouth. Could I still be pregnant even though I got a negative test?

My husband and I have been TTC for 2 years now. We recently started Clomid after many months of just taking metformin to induce ovulation. I have just finished up the second round of Clomid and waiting for my period. have not had the tender breasts this time like I did the first time. I also started on day 27 last time. Has drinking Castor Oil actually worked to induce labor for anyone? Mommas & Women who have taken it PLEASE?

The reason that castor oil can work is because it causes stomach upset and diarrhea which leads to dehydration. If the body is dehydrated it can lead your body to start having contractions. It is NOT healthy to induce labor that way and could negatively impact your baby. You've come this far and it would be really hard if your baby was in distress because of dehydration. 37 weeks is no longer considered full-term. The closer to 40 weeks you can go the better in terms of your health and the babies health. I know how uncomfortable the last few weeks of pregnancy are but if your body is not going into labor on its own then it's too early to try to force it. Wait a few more weeks and just try to get a lot of rest since you wont be able to sleep much after the baby has come. You can try walking a lot which can help to bring the baby down into the pelvis and prepare for birth but just try to hang in there and know that it's the best thing you can do for your baby.

Strange feeling in head..?

I have this weird feeling in the lower-left part of my head. It's centered on a certain part, and it feels like a dull, burning sensation. It also feels kind of like tension. Can anything make you dilate or efface?

I'm not asking about inducing labor. Just asking if there is something to help you dilate or efface. I've heard walking and squats help when you have allready started dilating. Is that true? Did walking help any of you? I went from .5cm to 1cm to 1.5cm in 3 weeks and I am 60 % effaced.I really don't want to go past my due date. I have horrible back pain and a bruised rib and other reasons why I wouldn't mind having the baby a week or 2 earlier. I am almost 37 weeks. The doctor told me that it's safe for me to have the baby any time now. And she recommended walking. I know some people will say that the baby will come when it's ready and everything, but I just wanna know what peope have done from experience and if anything helped. Any benefits from doing certain things in the last weeks?

It sounds to me like you are having back labor from the pains in your tailbone and lower back. I had horrible back labor and wasn't sure if I was in labor or not. The pain consisted for 4 days off and on and I went to the hospital 4 times before they finally told me I was in true labor bc I couldnt tell. I couldnt feel the labor pains in my uterus because they were so bad in my back. It sounds like you are getting ready to go into labor, time the back pains as you would regular contractions. 35 weeks pregnant. Braxton hicks, pressure, fetal movement?

I am 35 weeks pregnant with #2 and for the past 2 weeks I have had nonstop braxton hicks, decreased fetal movement, pressure on my vagina and in my butt...I've been to the hospital 3 times (My OB sent me) to get monitored. They didn't check me to see if I was dialated or anything. They just hooked me up to see if I was having contractions and they got a couple but they said they weren't too close together. But now I get them whenever I walk, I have a horrible pain in the top of my stomach that just started a few days ago (haven't mentioned it to my doc yet because she's just going to send me in to get monitored and I am a stay at home mom currently so I kind of can't get to the hospital right away) but anyway, the pain in the top of my stomach is very painful whenever I am standing or walking. Doesn't matter for how long, just as soon as I stand up it hurts. It hurts to pull my shirts down if they start to come up because it rubs on that spot. But it's not the skin, it hurts on the inside. And I have been feeling more pressure on my vagina and butt and just like tons of pressure on my cervix. The baby has dropped so I know that could contribute to the pressure. But I am SO uncomfortable with all the different pains I've been having. Also whenever I feel the contractions they are about a 7 or 8 on the pain scale for the cramping feeling but they're about a 10 on the pain scale with the pain that goes through my back when I get them. The end of my first pregnancy was no where near like this. I know every pregnancy is different but is this normal?? I feel like all this stuff going on should be enough to just induce me but I don't know if that's just me being tired of pregnancy lol. I was induced a week early with #1 because of major decreased fetal movement. Any advice to relieve any of this or if I could just give in and call my doctor again would be awesome. Thank you!

I am almost 39 weeks pregnant and set to be induced next Monday, Instead of being induced in the hospital I would really like to jump start my contractions here at home and have her come without all of the medicines. I have tired sex, eating pineapple,turkey,unripened papaya, I've used Primrose oil, had sex, and walked and walked and walked... nothing seems to kick in into full gear. I am 2-3 cm dilated, and about 80% effaced. I have been having horrible contractions the last few days but nothing that is close enough to go to the hospital. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Nothing is wrong the baby is just not ready yet. My first daughter was almost a week late. There's not much you can do if the baby isn't willing to come yet. They'll probably try to induce again in a few days if you don't have the baby before, you'll probably go into labor naturally though. Good luck and yeah don't ask for a c-section unless you absolutely need it.

She had two still born pups on Friday night at 9:30 pm- they were obviously under-developed because they had no hair, fused eyelids and ear buds that were not fully formed. After she had them, I removed them from the cage to let her rest...but I saw no blood, placenta or cords of any kind. The next day she was lethargic and obviously in pain. I noticed some bloody discharge in her cage. I wrapped her in a towel and put a hot compress on her to try to induce the discharge of the placenta and rubbed her belly gently. She seemed septic already and was shivering, and I though of giving her infants tylenol susp.-but I didn't want to give her anything that could damage her liver. My only thought was if the placenta didn't come out, or another pup was in there...she would die of sepsis. So, I put gentle pressure on her belly right above her vagina and held onto the cord coming out of her, but didn't tug or pull...yet she died on my lap after about a minute of trying at around 4pm, less than 24 hours after giving birth. I find it hard to believe she was that septic already. Was it me pulling the cord? Maybe the babies were dead for awhile and she was septic from that to begin with? I have no experience with this and her widow will remain alone because I DO NOT want to deal with this again. Does anyone have any input? Is this common?

39 weeks, 2 cm, 40% effaced and just lost my mucus plug..how much long do i have?

I wish I could say when it would happen as I am pretty much in the same boat waiting and wondering! In my previous pregnancies I gave birth within 48 hrs of losing my mucus plug but this pregnancy has been completely different I lost my mucus plug two weeks ago and here I still am today is my due date and this little one shows no signs of going anywhere!! The head is fully engaged I am at least 3cm dilated my cervix is soft but still thick and I have been getting tonnes of pressure for days now! i was 1 cm for almost a week before i actually went into labor. you will know when it is time because your contractions will be very painful and you will be able to time them. I was in labor for about 40 hours with my first daughter. This Career? Greek? What do you think?

Okay, i absolutely ADORE Greece. My aunt is Greek and i just love the culture, language, food, the history, and who can forget: THE BEAUTY! I also like hospitality and tourism and foriegn language. Help fast. After calling the emergency vet, i gave my 8-10 pound yorkie 1 mL of h202 to make him vomit?

We gave our 1 yr old yorkie 1 mL (by syringe) of hydrogen peroxide because he got into my vyvanse(adhd) medicine and 1 pill was busted and 1 was missing after counting. Sorry, I dont' live in that area, but do know that you can choose where you have your baby, even if all your antenatal care has been at once hospital, you could start labour and change your mind. As long as you take your notes, you can go anywhere. Talk to your midwife about changing to the next nearest hospital - the last thing you need right now is to be worrying about the standard of care yourself and your baby will be getting.

Am I going into labor?

I'm a few days from my due date. I've been one of those women who has dealt with prodromal labor for the last 4 weeks. Mostly the contractions that I have felt have been like painful braxton hicks. I woke up early this morning feeling cramping from my back around to the front of my belly. They were 7 mins a part for about 2 hours and for the most part HURT to the point I couldn't talk. I was somehow able to go back to sleep. I've just woken up and my body feels crazy. I feel like something has definitely changed in there. Loads of pressure and just an uneasiness.... I lost a little of my mucus plug a few weeks back. My Dr. is old school and doesn't check me, but when I went to the hospital about 2+ weeks ago thinking I was in labor, the nurse said I was 1.5 cm and 50% effaced. She also said the baby was at -2 station...but I think the baby moves a lot. He/She certainly feels VERY low right now. This is my second baby, by the way. I never had any this with my first. She was a week late with no signs of labor at all. I was induced. So what is going on with my body! I'm so confused between false and real labor. I know that if it's real labor then the contractions are consistant. I just can't get over how painful these last ones were and how they can just stop themselves. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'd really like to be her friend but she has trust issues?

I've known her for a few years now through her boyfriend, my ex and a few of our mutual friends. I have been living in her house with she, my friend *her guy* and her daughter. So I'm being induced Thursday night/Friday morning. How long will the doctors allow you to go before they start suggesting c-section? Sudden sore neck lasting for weeks?

A couple weeks ago, I developed a sore neck within less than a day. It was so intense I could not turn my head without feeling intense pain. At first I thought it was sore because it happened shortly after riding a bike for the first time in a while. But now the pain has lasted for weeks and is not improving. Every morning I wake up with extreme pain in my neck. It does not feel like muscle pain, because I have had sore neck muscles before and this is not what it feels like. Whereas stretching it would normally give relief, stretching the neck gives me sharp, almost headache-inducing pain. It occurs in both sides of the neck. I am only 20 years old. At this point I have a lot of muscle popping all over my neck, shoulders, and back when I rub them, as though they are tight, and this has worsened over the past couple weeks. 41 weeks and 2 days pregnant, why does my doctor want to see me again?

Ok so I have had no signs of labor except the loss of my mucus plug which the rest of it came out yesterday, i ended up going to the hospital to see my doctor for it because i was concerned about the color.. it was a kinda yellowish green but he said it was perfectly normal. He ended up keeping me on the machine that monitors the babys heart rate and the moms contractions? im not sure of the actual name of it.. anyways, the babys heart rate was perfectly fine but i was still not having any contractions, so he ended up sending me home, which i was fine with. Today I had my regular prenatal appointment with the same doctor, he checked to see if i was dilated but apparently nothing has changed (im not dilated), and i told him i still had no signs of contractions. he told me he wants to see me first thing tomorrow morning at the hospital so he can monitor my contractions!?? i was just on the machine yesterday, i told him i still didnt have any contractions today, why would it be any different tomorrow?? He didn't mention inducing me or anything but could that be the case?? if it is why wouldnt he tell me? im just kinda scared and it seems stupid to want to bring me there to only monitor the contractions im not even having... im not sure what to expect, any ideas?

Okay, so here's the deal. I'm having Thanksgiving with my boyfriend this year and everyone is bringing something. They wanted me to bring a pumpkin pie so I agreed. There's this one pumpkin pie that my ex boyfriend's mom made once that involves cool whip in the mixture and it makes the pie really light and fluffy. So anyways, I bought a 16 ounce tub of Cool Whip, a 29 ounce can of pumpkin crap[, a 3.4 ounce box of Jell-o pumpkin spice flavored instant pudding and pie filling, a 1.12 ounce thing of pumpkin pie spice, and a 15 inch graham cracker pie crust. I don't know if there's anything else I need but I HAVE A FEELING that I'm going to at least need those items undoubtedly. So here's the kicker, what's the recipe and how do I make this? Do I need anymore ingredients? Do I need to bake it? And also, is a graham cracker crust the right kind of crust for this pie? I know I sound like someone who's never cooked in my life but I swear to God I'm an excellent cook! I can cook almost all American food, many Filipino delicacies, loads of the more complicated Italian dishes and bakes, and amazing French cuisine (have even cooked escargot!!) but I've never made desert food in my life!! I just don't eat sweets!! I hate them!! With a passion!! They make me feel sick. I think I've baked cookies like three or four times MAYBE but that's it. So please help me if you know this recipe or can suggest another one that uses the Cool Whip. Ten points to the answer that I end up using. Oh, and please no links to other sites because I already did a massive online search for the recipe and I hate how many recipes out there aren't very specific. "Crisp" is not how I would describe any lettuce I grow. The only lettuce I ever would describe as "crisp" would be iceberg (bleah...that stuff is awful anyway), and possibly the ribs of romaine. Good lettuce is tender, not crisp. And it should be fine at any age before it bolts. You can eat it young ("baby greens") or wait until if gets bigger.

Ok so im over being pregnant and I am full term so I know it'll be ok. I have been having sex and doing the nipple stimulation and it causes painful contractions for about ten minutes than it stops and it had just crossed my mind that what if I went into the l&d tonight and told them im having pain and then they hook me up to monitors and track my contractions and while they leave the room i perform the nipple stimulation and then they see that im having contractions and so they keep watch and see that its not going away but not going fast enough so they decide to speed things up with pitocin and so actually little do they know they are inducing me..would this work? And please no smart like comments just answer my question after all this is for answering and asking questions. Thank you.

Diarrhea for 3 days now 31 weeks pregnant?

I've had diarrhea for 3 days now. I have no other symptoms. I'm 31 weeks pregnant and on modified bed rest for preterm labor. I have had contractions on and off but nothing too serious. I do not feel sick to my stomach and I am not running a fever. I am not lactose intolerant and do not change my cats litter box. I am 25% effaced but not dilated. The baby has been moving perfectly fine. I went to my ob office yesterday and I am in perfect health according to the midwife. I have increase mucous like discharge but my water has not broken. The baby is engaged. Am I getting ready to go into labor? Also, I was bottling my leaking colostrum since I think it'd be stupid to let it go to waste and giving to my toddler who is 21 months old (I have been just sitting with a bottle underneath my nipples to catch it I have not expressed it) but now it turned from yellow to clearish white so my actually breast milk is coming in. Is this labor? I was induced with my first so I don't know what the signs of labor are. OB office doesn't seem too concerned.

What are some things that are safe to trigger labor?

I am being induced next Thursday (7th) but would like to start labor naturally if possible. I am 1cm dialated and my doctor told me today that my cervix is thinning out really good. I have been bouncing on an exercise ball a lot and I think that is what has helped thin my cervix out a little bit. I just want some more suggestions as to how to get this labor started without having to be induced! Thanks in advance!

I'm Due July 1st and this is my first baby. I'm really upset because I have not even started to dilate.?

My doctor said they will let me go TWO weeks over due and then induce. To me this is ridiculous, I understand he will come when he's ready and from every other comment I read there is nothing I can do about it:( But honestly i'm stressed. I'm freaking out about the stupid government shut down cause i got a letter saying that me and baby might not be covered after the 1st( health care), and they are not back paying anything. My feet are swollen and turn blue quick when im standing. I have a little figure and honestly think my body is done being pregnant, but baby does not agree. Ive asked my doc for a letter to my county worker cause as of now im on assistance and have 35 hours of looking for a job that i will never get. a total waste of time. And she refused to write one. She is totally against me! So i cant make my 5 hours a day of applying for jobs and running around town for an interview that i already know im not getting the job for so im stressed that i will lose my assistance. All this stress i feel like is keeping my baby inside? And no one seems to understand. Im not a big complainer so i dont push anything when i go in to the doctor, i figure she will help me or she wont. does anyone have any advice for my next visit? I;m seeing my MD? and im hoping she will give me that gel.. or something to start this process.

All these other people are CRAZY telling you to just try it. I'd ask him to order me something else or better yet, order something FOR MYSELF. If he had a problem with that, I'd leave. Lotion gives me weird reaction?

So I hav this lotion called Simply Basic Romantics Cherry Blossom. It smells really good so I decided to wear it today. I put it on and rubbed it in like normal but then I realized that where I applied it straight from the bottle down my leg, it left a line in my skin that looks like a tan line. It feels kinda tingly now and my leg looks kinda pinkish now. The bottle says the lotion us supposed to induce sensualality. Is that what it is or am I having an allergic reaction? I need help getting off xanax, (different type of story)?

Hi, Iv been taking 2mg xanax for the last 2 weeks, I started taking them because i wasnt getting sleep when i wanted to get sleep due to the nature of my work (hospitality 3pm-10pm shifts) . SO when i got home from work I found it hard to get to sleep untill at least 5am in the morning and then i would wake up at at around 1 or 2pm only to start work an hour later and do it all again. SO my sleeping pattern i beleive will change as i am starting a new job in 3 days (painting) which is a NORMAL SHIFT in human society. 7am till 3pm and i belive after working these hard days i will be able to curl up in a ball at around 9pm and be out COLD (NO MEDS) due to the hard physical labour of the job. So.. i havnt had a xanax since last night. and it is now 4am. Im not sleepy. I havnt got any side affects such as feeling depressed or shaking or havent had a seizure yet. Only not being able to sleep. So my question is, If i just soilder this one out, try and sleep without any meds for the nxt few days and start my new job will i be ok without the meds since i have only been on them for less that 2 weeks? I havnt had any change in mental state either over the past 24 (since my last 2mg dose).. Please help..

deep vein thrombosis. it's quite normal for people who have been on bedrest or without walking around much for a period of time (like surgery, injury). you see, when a blood clot forms in your foot, leg, wherever, it's usually because of slowed blood flow to an area (other reasons too) but they can break loose and travel via the bloodstream to the lungs, heart, brain. causing problems. do you have a doctor? someone needs to give you some answers. because obviously you're scared and need some reassurance. it's hard for me to say you're in danger, or you're not. but i'd demand some explanations or answers, because you really dont seem to sure as to what's going on. i'm not knocking you, just saying that it's your right to have some explaining going on. i hope everything goes well for you
