Induction to C-section?

So I'm being induced Thursday night/Friday morning. How long will the doctors allow you to go before they start suggesting c-section? I would prefer one due to the fact I want fixed and not looking forward to the pain but was curious because they did mention a c-section in the result I don't progress fast enough so I was just curious what they consider too slow and that a c-section is the only answer. Any thoughts?
