What is the best way to position a doorman?

have the doormen on the outside before the service starts to open the doors for people going into the auditorium, as most of the traffic will be in this direction. When the service starts, have the doorman close the doors from the inside. then if people need to leave to visit the restroom etc. they can open the door for them as the leave. When the service is over the doormen are then in position to open the door for all the people exiting the auditorium.
