Re: Cultivating Leaf Lettuce Indoors Under Lights. Should one expect crisp leaves before maturity?

"Crisp" is not how I would describe any lettuce I grow. The only lettuce I ever would describe as "crisp" would be iceberg (bleah...that stuff is awful anyway), and possibly the ribs of romaine. Good lettuce is tender, not crisp. And it should be fine at any age before it bolts. You can eat it young ("baby greens") or wait until if gets bigger.
