Bar tending! Is it hard????

I went to a job interview for bar tending, in the interview i said I'd had experience in hospitality but stressed i had no experience in bar tending and would like a bit of training. So i get to the job and they only put me on a 9pm shift on a friday night, i had no experience what so ever and all of a sudden I have about 5 customers at once asking me for a dozen drinks and mixers, i had no clue and the whole night was a disaster. I left the job because i was scared and embarressed. Was this a fair trial? I really wanna do bar tending but is it really that hard? Or can you get training?
